Gwadar Implements Travel Regulations to Ease Local Commute Issues

Gwadar: In a pivotal meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Tabish Ali Baloch, new travel regulations were established for Gwadar residents to mitigate recent transportation hardships experienced due to the BYC sit-in disruptions between Karachi and Gwadar. The meeting aimed to refine travel facilities and address the increased travel fares.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the session, convened on special orders from Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rahman, involved transport owners and bus union representatives. It was decided that only Gwadar residents would be allowed to travel from Karachi to Gwadar under a new system requiring registration of ID cards and other passenger details with transporters. Additionally, travelers will now need to apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the district administration to secure a road permit for the buses.

In response to the public’s concerns about rising travel costs, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baloch instructed the bus union to maintain pre-existing fare rates despite the emergency circumstances, a directive which the Transport Union agreed to uphold. This resolution is expected to alleviate some of the travel difficulties faced by Gwadar’s citizens and ensure more manageable commuting costs during this period.
