Foreign Ministers Condemn Israeli Airstrikes on Syrian Airbase

Islamabad: The foreign ministers of 13 countries, including Pakistan, Algeria, and Turkiye, have issued a joint statement condemning Israeli airstrikes on the Abu al-Duhur military airbase in northwestern Syria. They described the attacks as a breach of Syria’s sovereignty and a threat to its territorial integrity and political unity.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers expressed concern over the ongoing targeting of Syria’s territory and infrastructure, warning that such actions could undermine Syria’s efforts to restore security and rebuild after years of conflict. The statement emphasized the risk of escalating tensions and the potential impact on regional peace and stability.

The foreign ministers called on the international community to take a firm stance against the aggression, urging steps to ensure compliance with international law and the United Nations Charter. They highlighted the necessity to respect the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and advocated for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied areas to prevent further escalation.
