Finance Minister Engages with FPCCI on Export Facilitation and Tax Reforms


Islamabad: In a consultative session held at the Finance Division, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, met with representatives from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), led by its President, Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, to discuss potential reforms in export facilitation and tax policies.



According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister acknowledged FPCCI’s role in representing the business community and emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with industry stakeholders. The meeting covered a broad spectrum of proposals related to the upcoming Budget 2026-27, focusing on sales tax, customs duties, and export facilitation schemes, among other topics.



The FPCCI delegation presented specific recommendations aimed at boosting export competitiveness and easing compliance costs, while the Finance Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to a transparent and technology-driven tax framework. Discussions also touched on industrial productivity, policy continuity, and collaboration between the government and private sector to support economic reforms and promote growth.



The Finance Minister assured that the input provided by FPCCI would be considered in the budget formulation process, reinforcing the government’s commitment to stakeholder engagement in policy development. Participants unanimously agreed on the necessity of continued collaboration to enhance economic performance and foster a conducive business environment.
