Few Pakistanis Order Food Online Weekly, Survey Finds

Islamabad: Only 18% of Pakistanis reported ordering food online in the past week, with higher usage among younger and more educated individuals, according to a recent survey by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan. The survey, which included a nationally representative sample of 787 adult Pakistanis, highlighted that a significant majority, 72%, did not use food delivery services such as Food Panda during the same period.

According to Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the survey aimed to assess the frequency of online food ordering among Pakistanis. Participants were asked whether they had ordered food from a delivery service in the past week. The results showed that while food delivery platforms are gaining visibility, their actual usage remains limited, with less than one in five respondents reporting engagement with these services.

The survey’s findings suggest that education level and age may influence the likelihood of using food delivery services. Specifically, 46% of respondents with an educational level of FA or above reported using these services, compared to only 22% of younger respondents. The study, conducted via telephonic surveys from January 15 to February 3, 2026, carries an estimated error margin of ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.
