Islamabad: Federal Minister for Law & Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar met with delegations from the Islamabad Bar Council and District Bar Association to discuss issues faced by the legal fraternity, matters relating to the legal profession, and the welfare of lawyers.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting included representatives from the Islamabad Bar Council, such as Vice Chairman Asif Iqbal and Chairman Executive Committee Zafar Khokhar, as well as members from the District Bar Association led by President Naeem Gujar. Other notable attendees were the Secretary General of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, Qasim Abbasi, and Pakistan Bar Council’s Raja Rizwan Abbasi.
Senator Tarar emphasized the critical role of the legal fraternity in ensuring access to justice and the judicial system’s effective functioning. He affirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining an active dialogue with bar councils and associations to address lawyers’ concerns and enhance the legal and judicial framework. Proposals and recommendations from bar associations were highlighted as crucial for ongoing legal and judicial reforms.
The Federal Minister assured the delegations that necessary steps would be implemented at relevant forums to address issues concerning the legal community. Discussions also covered facilities for bar associations, the welfare of lawyers, and other professional matters.
