Islamabad: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan convened separate meetings at Parliament House today with Interior Secretary Captain (Retd.) Khurram Agha and Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Dr. Usman Anwar, to discuss significant issues related to national security, law enforcement, and public safety.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the discussions with Interior Secretary Khurram Agha centered on internal security, counter-terrorism strategies, and the maintenance of law and order. Syedaal Khan underscored the state’s responsibility to protect the lives and properties of its citizens and stressed the importance of coordination among institutions to ensure public safety. He remarked on the necessity of a secure environment as a foundation for development and investment, while recognizing the contributions of law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace.
In the subsequent meeting with DG FIA Dr. Usman Anwar, the focus shifted to the Federal Investigation Agency’s efforts to combat cybercrime, human trafficking, and financial crimes. Syedaal Khan lauded the FIA’s role in safeguarding national interests and reinforcing public trust in state institutions. He acknowledged the agency’s successful operations against various illegal activities and emphasized the importance of ongoing reforms to enhance its capacity.
Dr. Usman Anwar provided insights into the agency’s performance and initiatives aimed at aligning its capabilities with modern demands. He reiterated the FIA’s dedication to its mission of protecting national security and upholding the rule of law.
