Islamabad: A two-day consultative workshop on salt mining, titled “Safe and Productive Mining,” concluded successfully at a local hotel in Islamabad, bringing together industry leaders and stakeholders to discuss advancements and safety in salt mining practices. The event was organized by the National Productivity Organization in collaboration with the Asian Productivity Organization and the Salt Manufacturing Association of Pakistan.
The workshop featured Muhammad Asad Islam Mahni, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Productive Division, as the chief guest. He expressed gratitude to the participants and organizers, highlighting the significance of the workshop in addressing national concerns related to salt mining.
Mahni emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to supporting industry stakeholders in improving productivity and competing at a global level. He noted the diverse representation at the event and the meaningful discussions that took place, which are crucial for the industry’s progress.
Ismail Suttar, Founder Chairman of the Salt Manufacturing Association of Pakistan, also addressed the attendees, stressing the importance of initiatives like this workshop for the local mining community. He encouraged the sharing of insights and learnings gained during the event.
The workshop concluded with a collective call to action for participants to disseminate the knowledge acquired during the sessions within their networks, aiming to create a ripple effect that would benefit the broader mining industry.
