Srinagar, April 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leaders Khadim Hussain and Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi have strongly condemned the ongoing arrest spree, confiscation of houses, land and other properties of the innocent Kashmiris by India’s notorious agencies like the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and State Investigation Agency (SIA). Khadim Hussain and Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi in a joint statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that the NIA during its latest anti-Kashmiris’ actions confiscated a house and a patch of land belonging to Syed Shakeel Yousuf and Syed Shahid Yousuf, the illegally detained sons of prominent Mujahideen commander and Muttihida Jehad Council, Syed Salahuddin, in Srinagar and Badgam districts, terming it worst kind of vindictive action by the Indian government.
They maintained that Syed Salahuddin is struggling for securing the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and resolving the Kashmir dispute according to the resolutions passed by the United Nations, which is the demand of every Kashmiri. They said the sons of Syed Salahuddin have been languishing in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail for the past several years and now their properties have been confiscated, which speaks volumes of about the Indian repression being perpetrated against the Kashmiri people who are striving to get their birth right to self-determination.
They said that the fascist Modi regime has intensified imposing its colonial measures against the Kashmiris especially after its illegal move of August 5, 2019. The APHC leaders added Indian troops are extra judicially killing innocent Kashmiri youths during the so-called cordon and search operations, while Indian agencies are targeting Hurriyat leaders, activists and their families as part of their revengeful tactics. The leaders noted that the Modi led Hindutva government of India can kill Kashmiris and deprive them of their properties, but it can’t dampen their spirit of freedom through such brutal actions, adding the people of the occupied territory are determined to continue the sacred mission of their martyrs until the shackles of Indian slavery are broken.
Muttihida Jehad Council spokesman in a statement in Islamabad said that seizing the properties of Shahid Yusuf and Shakeel Yusuf was blatant expression of the fanaticism and desperation of the Indian rulers. He maintained that through such actions, New Delhi wants to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission, adding this will, on the contrary, further solidify the people’s resolve to attain freedom from Indian yoke. The spokesman appealed to the world community and international human rights organizations to take notice of Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory and play role in resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions.
