Srinagar: The body of a civilian was found near the Jhelum River in the Wangipora area of Bandipora district, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, prompting local authorities to initiate an investigation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased has been identified as Junaid Bashir, a resident of Bazipora Ajas. Following the discovery, locals transported the body to Sumbal’s Community Health Centre for necessary medico-legal procedures, confirmed by a police official.
This incident follows a recent case where the body of 22-year-old Roman Nazir was discovered in Srinagar city, found in a nalla at Pahloo Brein, Nishat area. Nazir had been missing since September 28, 2024, with his family reporting his disappearance to the Nishat Police Station on October 1, 2024.
Authorities have begun investigations into both cases to determine the circumstances surrounding these deaths as concerns about safety and security in the region persist.
