Chief Minister Punjab Directs Swift Drainage Operations Amid Heavy Rains


LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed deputy commissioners in Rawalpindi, Attock, and Gujrat to initiate rapid drainage operations as the region experiences heavy rains. The directive aims to mitigate the impact of accumulated rainwater and potential flooding in affected areas.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the chief minister commended the local administrations for their prompt response in clearing rainwater from most areas within a few hours. She has requested a detailed report on the current drainage situation following the rains. The chief minister emphasized the need for all available resources to be mobilized to facilitate the public and remove accumulated water swiftly.



With the possibility of flooding in Nullah Lai, Rawalpindi, CM Punjab has ordered comprehensive precautionary measures to protect both lives and property. This initiative seeks to ensure public safety and minimize disruption caused by adverse weather conditions.
