Chairman Senate and Qatari Delegation Discuss Strengthening Trade and Investment Ties


Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani held discussions with a Qatari delegation headed by H.E. Sheikh Nayef Bin Eid Al Thani, a senior member of the Qatari Royal Family, focusing on the enhancement of trade and investment between Pakistan and Qatar. The meeting underscored the longstanding relations between the two nations and explored avenues for deeper bilateral cooperation.



According to Senate of Pakistan, the Chairman Senate emphasized the shared history and mutually beneficial trade ties between Pakistan and Qatar, which have existed for centuries. He proposed deepening these relations through increased trade, investment, and socio-political cooperation. During the meeting, the Chairman Senate also briefed the delegation about the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, highlighting its theme of “Peace, Security and Development.” He expressed appreciation for Qatar’s participation in the conference.



The discussions also highlighted Pakistan’s role in promoting global and regional peace, with references to the Makkah Accord. Chairman Senate praised Sheikh Nayef’s vision for economic ties and invited Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s tourism, agriculture, and energy sectors.



Sheikh Nayef expressed gratitude for the hospitality and recognized Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and development. He reiterated Qatar’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan and stressed the importance of supporting the Pakistani community in Qatar. The meeting included participation from Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to Chairman Senate and Ambassador of ISC.
