ISLAMABAD, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has assured the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of the government’s unwavering support in conducting transparent, free, and fair elections, committing to the provision of all necessary resources for the electoral process.
According to Ministry of Information Broadcasting, this affirmation came during a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja in Islamabad. The Prime Minister emphasized the caretaker government’s role in facilitating the upcoming general elections and ensuring their integrity.
The Chief Election Commissioner briefed PM Kakar on the ECP’s ongoing preparations for the general elections, including the finalization of polling stations and staff lists. He also highlighted that the update of electoral rolls was nearing completion and distribution to respective districts would commence shortly.
In a gesture of openness and transparency, the Chief Election Commissioner extended an invitation to Prime Minister Kakar to visit the Election Commission to personally observe the preparations for the general elections.
PM Kakar responded with assurances of full support, emphasizing the caretaker government’s commitment to providing both the funds and security necessary to ensure a smooth electoral process.
