Lahore, April 27, 2023 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi today visited Nishtar Hospital Tumultan. Mohsin Naqvi inspected the different blocks of the hospital and expressed his displeasure at the slow pace of work. The Chief Minister appointed Commissioner Multan Division as the focal person in this regard. Mohsen Naqvi directed Provincial Minister Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Javed Akram and the Secretary to visit the project every week.
He said that the work will be completed within the stipulated period. If not, the respective team will be responsible. Mohsin Naqvi instructed to work day and night on the project in three shifts and said that a timeline of daily work progress should be made and submitted to the Commissioner’s office. Commissioner Multan has full authority to take indiscriminate action against those who do not work. The work should also be started simultaneously.
The issue of LC has been resolved. Delay in the completion of the project will not be tolerated no. Completion of Nishtartu will reduce the burden on Nishtar Hospital. Commissioner Multan Aamir Khattak said in the briefing that the tendering process for the purchase of machinery along with civil works has been completed. 9 billion 45 crore rupees have been released by the Punjab government. 6 billion 12 crore rupees have been spent on the Nishtar Two project built on 58 acres.
Electricity and other installations have been started in the interior of the building. The work of laundry, radiology, medical gas highline system has been awarded. The grey structure of the hospital building, cafe triage, outer gates have been completed. In the first phase, the hospital with 500 beds will be made functional.
120 emergency trauma in this phase. Beds, 120 neuro-arthro beds, 50 ICU beds, 100 beds for mother and child, 110 beds for medical surgery. 10 modular theaters are being constructed in Nishtar 2.
