Islamabad: A delegation of senior civil servants from Bangladesh visited Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of a three-week executive development programme. This initiative, under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, aims to foster strategic leadership, enhance governance systems, and promote policy innovation.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, voiced satisfaction with the strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He expressed hope that the visit would enhance mutual understanding and institutional connections between the two nations.
Senator Dar recalled his visit to Bangladesh in August 2025, where he announced the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor. This program offers 500 scholarships to Bangladeshi students over five years, with 74 students already pursuing education in Pakistan. The second phase of this initiative commenced in May 2026 in Dhaka.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to cooperating with the new BNP-led government of Prime Minister Tariq Rahman, highlighting the intent for cordial and constructive engagement.
The Bangladeshi delegation acknowledged the hospitality received and expressed interest in strengthening institutional links and professional exchanges. The visit underscores the commitment of both countries to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation.
