Islamabad: President of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of the National Assembly, Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, visited the National Library of Pakistan to assess its operations and initiatives focused on preserving the nation’s cultural heritage. As the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on National Heritage and Culture Division, Iftikhar emphasized the importance of modernizing library services and expanding public access to knowledge.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the visit involved a comprehensive briefing on the National Library’s specialized services, archival collections, and research facilities. Iftikhar toured various sections of the library, highlighting the institution’s efforts in preserving rare manuscripts and scholarly resources. She stressed the need for digitizing archival materials to enhance public accessibility and promote a knowledge-driven society.

Iftikhar, speaking as the President of the Young Parliamentarians Forum, reiterated the forum’s commitment to fostering a culture of reading and library use among the youth to support intellectual growth and critical thinking. She acknowledged libraries as essential centers of knowledge and cultural preservation, vital for developing informed and responsible future generations.
