Aurangzeb and Yousef Discuss Opportunities in Global Halal Economy


ISLAMABAD: In a meeting held in Islamabad, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Shaikh Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), explored the burgeoning global halal economy and its implications for Pakistan. The discussions centered on enhancing Pakistan’s role in various sectors of the halal market, including food, fashion, tourism, and services.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister emphasized the necessity to strengthen connections between Pakistan’s business community and international networks. He highlighted the potential benefits of increased engagement and collaboration via the Chamber’s expansive global platforms. The focus was on moving beyond the general halal concept to identify specific products and markets where Pakistani businesses can thrive.



The dialogue also covered the prospects of reinforcing Pakistan’s Islamic finance ecosystem. Both parties discussed the importance of creating commercially viable opportunities and improving market linkages. The meeting underscored the need for greater collaboration with international platforms dedicated to Islamic economics and finance to foster growth and development in these sectors.
