Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has emphasized the importance of professional and timely communication strategies to effectively counter misinformation in the digital sphere. Addressing a delegation of 217 probationary officers from the 54th Common Training Programme at the Information Ministry’s Digital Communication Department, Tarar highlighted the role of government communication in promoting transparency and strengthening public trust.
According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar underscored the significance of the Common Training Programme in enhancing the professional capabilities of government officers, enabling them to provide effective public service. He urged the officers to prioritize national interests and approach their duties with humility, commitment, and integrity.
The delegation received a briefing on the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s role in government communication, digital outreach, and countering misinformation. The session also covered public awareness and promoting the national narrative. The probationary officers expressed keen interest in the briefing and recognized the importance of digital media in keeping the public informed about government policies and initiatives.
