£190 Million Case Hearing Suspended as PTI Founder’s Lawyer Unavailable

Islamabad: In a recent turn of events, the Islamabad High Court has postponed the hearing of the £190 million case against the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) due to the unavailability of his legal counsel. The two-member bench, which includes acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, presided over the proceedings.

During the session, it was noted that the lawyer representing the PTI founder was absent, prompting the court to defer the hearing until after the Eid-Ul Fitr holidays. This delay comes amid heightened scrutiny following the accountability court’s decision to sentence the PTI founder to 14 years in prison. Additionally, Bushra Bibi, a co-defendant in the case, received a seven-year prison sentence along with fines.

This development marks another chapter in the ongoing legal battle surrounding the substantial sum of £190 million, a case that has captured significant public and media attention. The next steps in this high-profile case will be closely watched as the parties prepare for the resumption of proceedings.
