US Report Highlights Human Rights Violations in India Under Modi’s Regime

Washington, The US Congressional Research Service has released a report detailing significant human rights violations in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The report, published by the Kashmir Media Service, highlights the worsening human rights situation in the country, with a particular focus on the treatment of religious minorities and the conduct of law enforcement agencies.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the report titled “India: Human Rights Assessment” outlines a decline in the overall human rights landscape in India, with increasing attacks on Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs. The report also details concerns over extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances, noting a rise in incidents where individuals are killed without judicial process or vanish without legal explanation.

The findings underscore a broad deterioration in civil liberties under the current Indian government, pointing to systemic issues that have led to an escalation of violence and suppression of dissent. The report calls for urgent international attention to address these human rights abuses and restore basic freedoms and protections in India.
