UN Secretary-General Calls for Halt to Cross-Border Terrorism from Afghanistan to Pakistan

New York: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has voiced serious concerns over cross-border terrorist attacks from Afghanistan targeting Pakistan. During a news conference, he urged the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan to prevent such incursions and to better manage its territory to obstruct terrorist operations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Guterres highlighted the issues regarding the penetration of terrorists from Afghanistan into Pakistan. He emphasized the need for Afghanistan to assert control over its land and ensure it is not used as a base for terrorist groups to launch operations into neighboring countries.

This call comes amid escalating tensions and ongoing security challenges in the region, with the UN chief stressing the importance of regional stability and the safety of civilian populations.
