Islamabad: Ulema Karam expressed support for the National Adolescent and Youth Policy (NAYP) during a consultative session at the Prime Minister’s Office. The meeting, led by Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP), focused on empowering Pakistan’s youth aged 10 to 29 years.
The session brought together stakeholders from PMYP and Ulama Karam, including Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Yousaf. Rana Mashhood highlighted the importance of uniting school and madrassa students under a shared vision for progress.
The policy emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility, with a comprehensive survey developed for youth participation. Senior religious and governmental figures showed enthusiastic support. Shabir Usmani, coordinator to the Prime Minister, praised Rana Mashhood’s efforts to connect educational and religious communities.
Religious Minister Sardar Yousaf commended the policy’s inclusive design, noting the involvement of all major schools of thought. Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi suggested collaboration between university and madrassa scholars for youth development, advocating for the policy’s dissemination through mosques and seminaries.
Rana Mashhood committed to overseeing policy consultations in the first 25 cities, urging religious leaders to guide youth towards opportunities in the Digital Youth Hub, including interest-free loans and skills development. The policy aims to empower Pakistan’s diverse youth, preparing them for future leadership.
