Surge in Indian State Terrorism in Kashmir Condemned by APHC, Calls for UN Action

Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has publicly condemned what it describes as a surge in Indian state terrorism in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir region. The group asserts that Kashmir remains a fundamentally political issue and emphasizes the need for a resolution that acknowledges the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as recognized by the United Nations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman, in a statement released in Srinagar, praised the resilience and unwavering determination of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their quest for freedom. The spokesman highlighted the significant sacrifices made by Kashmiris in pursuit of their undeniable rights, noting these efforts have etched a notable place in the annals of modern freedom movements.

The spokesman expressed deep concern over the dire circumstances facing the Kashmiri population, pointing out that their life, honor, existence, culture, and identity are under severe threat. He criticized the global community’s lack of response to the situation, describing it as a further insult to the Kashmiris’ plight. The APHC calls upon individuals worldwide to voice their opposition to the reported brutalities in Kashmir.

Reaffirming the Kashmiris’ commitment to their freedom struggle, the APHC spokesman called on the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, to acknowledge the critical situation in occupied Kashmir. The group urges the UN to take steps towards resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with relevant UN resolutions.
