Support Grows for Creation of Smaller Provinces in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: People across Pakistan are increasingly vocalizing their support for the creation of smaller provinces and administrative units. This growing sentiment is particularly evident in Southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where residents have expressed a desire for a new province that would include Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas.

According to Radio Pakistan, there is significant backing for this initiative among the people of Dera Ismail Khan, who cite inadequate healthcare and educational facilities as primary reasons for their support. Residents argue that establishing Dera Ismail Khan as a separate province would lead to better allocation of funds, improved hospital services, and enhanced security measures, reducing the need for long-distance travel to larger cities like Multan, Peshawar, and Islamabad for essential services.
