Special Committee On Arms Licenses Meets

Islamabad, July 17, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Special Committee on Arms Licenses met this afternoon in Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, MNA to discuss the problems faced by the citizens in obtaining the Arms Licenses. The Special Committee expressed grave concern over the procedural complications for obtaining of Arms Licenses as it became difficult even for Parliamentarians to obtain Arms Licenses in due course of time. The Special Committee therefore, directed that M/o Interior may engage the service of NADRA to ease procedural complications for issuance of Arms Licenses so that people could get their Arms Licenses without any trouble.

The Committee decided to invite the Chairman, NADRA in the next meeting so that concrete measures could be adopted to streamline the system for issuing of Arms Licenses. The Special Committee further directed that M/o Interior may expedite the process of issuing of Arms Licenses to the Parliamentarians and devise a policy to facilitate Parliamentarians equally to negate the chances of discrimination.

Earlier, Addl. Secretary, M/o Interior briefly apprised the Committee about the efforts made by them to ease the procedure of issuing of Arms Licenses and problems faced by them in this regard. The meeting was attended by Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, Mr. Mohsin Dawar, Mr. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhary, Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan Mazari, MNAs.
