Sohbatpur: Deputy Commissioner Sohbatpur Farida Tareen emphasized the importance of addressing educational institution challenges to maintain the “candle of knowledge” during a function celebrating the restoration of a local school. With significant contributions from the Education Support Program (ESP), the Department of Education, Sohbatpur, and UNICEF, the school saw the distribution of essential educational supplies and the installation of solar panels.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the event highlighted the completion of crucial restoration work at the school, which previously suffered from a dilapidated structure and a roof at risk of collapsing. The upgrades included not only structural improvements but also the provision of new school books, bags, and other educational equipment specifically for girls. The local UC chairman contributed by providing solar panels to ensure a steady power supply.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by the district administration to promote education and eradicate ignorance across the district. Deputy Commissioner Farida Tareen reiterated the administration’s commitment to these goals during the inauguration ceremony, which marked a significant step forward for the community and its educational facilities. This collaborative effort is expected to be a significant milestone for the district’s education system.
