Sohbatpur Deputy Commissioner Reviews Delayed District Complex Construction

Sohbatpur, Deputy Commissioner Farida Tareen inspected the ongoing construction of the delayed district complex today, expressing concern over the slow progress and its impact on local governance and public services.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during her visit, the Exxon Building management provided an update, explaining that the project had been stalled in 2022 due to a spike in construction material costs, leading to a pause in operations. Recent adjustments in the project costs (PC One) have been submitted for approval, with hopes to restart construction soon.

Deputy Commissioner Tareen emphasized the importance of the complex for consolidating district offices, which would enable district officers to function more effectively. She noted that the delay has not only affected government operations but also inconvenienced the local population due to the lack of a fully functional administrative hub. Tareen committed to maintaining communication with the contractors and ensuring all possible support from the district administration to expedite the completion of the project.
