Karachi: In a significant development for the technology sector, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori inaugurated the Zaytun Ashraf IT Park, managed by the Selani Welfare Trust, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The event was marked by the presence of various dignitaries including Maulana Bashir Farooq, founder of Selani Welfare Trust, foreign diplomats, and local businessmen.
According to Sindh Governor House, the inauguration ceremony was attended by the Consul General of Bahrain, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Japan, Indonesia, and the Deputy Consul General of Iran, among other notable figures. In his address, Governor Tesori highlighted that the establishment of the IT Park is another milestone for Selani in the field of information technology. He emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing IT education to boost foreign exchange earnings through skilled youth.
Governor Tesori also outlined the government’s support for IT initiatives by the private sector and non-profit organizations, underscoring the growing importance of telecommunication and information technology globally. He shared his vision for making the entire province a center for IT innovation and development.
Additionally, Governor Tesori mentioned the preparation of a draft outlining Pakistan’s vision for 2040, which will be presented at the shrine of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on December 25. This draft focuses on investment goals, increasing trade, and addressing sectoral deficiencies with strategic improvements.
The governor also responded to a question regarding diplomatic conduct, criticizing the Afghan diplomat’s disregard for diplomatic norms during a recent event.
