Sindh and Uzbekistan’s Navoiy Region to Strengthen Trade and Industry Collaboration

KARACHI: In a bid to reinforce economic ties, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and the Governor of Uzbekistan’s Navoiy Region, TURSUNOV Normat Tulkunovich, have agreed to enhance cooperation across a spectrum of sectors including trade, investment, industry, and agriculture. The high-level discussions, held at the CM House, aim to translate broader Pakistan-Uzbekistan agreements into actionable partnerships at the provincial level.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the meeting saw participation from an Uzbek delegation comprising Ambassador Alisher Khakimovich Tukhtaev and other senior officials from the Navoiy region, alongside Sindh cabinet members. The dialogue centered on creating institutional linkages and exploring investment opportunities, focusing on areas such as the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone, industrial parks, and joint ventures in the Navoi Free Economic Zone.

The discussions extended to agricultural collaboration, emphasizing seed development and livestock initiatives, with both parties keen on climate-resilient practices and technology transfers. Energy, mining, and tourism were also key topics, with plans to leverage shared historical ties and natural resources for mutual benefit.

Urban connectivity and infrastructure development were highlighted as crucial for enhancing regional trade and logistics. The meeting concluded with a commitment to develop a structured framework for ongoing cooperation, aiming to fortify economic relations between Sindh and Uzbekistan’s Navoiy region through targeted initiatives in priority sectors.
