Shaza Fatima Champions Digital Transformation in Pakistan


Islamabad: Minister of State for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, has reiterated the government’s resolve to transform Pakistan into a digitally advanced nation. Speaking at an event in Islamabad on Wednesday, she called for a collaborative effort from both public and private sectors to ignite innovation and technological advancement among the country’s youth.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Khawaja highlighted the critical role of the private sector in realizing the vision of a digital Pakistan. She pointed out that the government is actively working to ensure stable and fast digital connectivity across the country, which is essential for fostering a conducive environment for digital growth.



Khawaja also noted significant strides made by Pakistan in the realm of digital governance, referencing the country’s improved ranking in the UN’s e-governance development index. She proudly mentioned that Pakistan has ascended fourteen points, moving from the middle to the high tier of digital e-governance in Asia, marking a notable achievement in the sector.



Furthermore, the Minister of State underscored Pakistan’s advancements in cybersecurity, stating that the nation has reached top-tier status in this critical area, reflecting the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing national security in the digital age.
