KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab officially opened the Shadman IT Park, a newly rehabilitated park and IT center in Shadman Town, District Central, as part of a major development initiative. The project aims to provide enhanced recreational and educational facilities to local residents.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Shadman IT Park, completed at a cost of Rs14.5 million, now features a 4,400-square-metre park equipped with modern amenities such as a children’s play area and swings. Additionally, an IT center comprising eight rooms has been established to offer free courses in artificial intelligence and information technology to young people. The admissions process has already begun, with courses set to commence within the next 30 days.

Mayor Wahab emphasized the importance of equipping Karachi’s youth with modern skills to seize global employment opportunities, noting that the initiative is part of a broader plan to introduce similar centers across the city. The project also includes infrastructure improvements such as electricity and water supply arrangements and sewerage connections.

The mayor expressed gratitude to the Sindh government for its support and highlighted ongoing efforts to develop Karachi’s infrastructure, including the upcoming construction and rehabilitation of approximately 149 roads. He called for fact-based criticism from political opponents and reiterated his commitment to transparency and public service.

The inauguration of Shadman IT Park signifies a commitment to transforming neglected areas into modern facilities that contribute to the city’s development and the well-being of its citizens.
