Quetta: The Regional Meteorological Center of Balochistan has issued a weather alert for multiple districts following Tuesday’s thunderstorms and the forecast of more severe weather conditions, including potential flooding. The alert covers a broad swath of the province, with significant rainfall expected to continue through Wednesday.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, areas including Lasbela, Hub, Awaran, and Khuzdar experienced heavy rainfall, raising concerns about possible flooding, especially in southeastern regions of the province. The weather pattern is expected to persist, with a high likelihood of thundershowers in these areas as well as in Musa Khel, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Sibi, Ziarat, Harnai, Kachhi, Jafarabad, Sahabatpur, and Naseerabad.
Meteorological officials have advised that while districts like Shirani, Zhob, Kalat, Sorab, Ormara, Loralai, and Dikki will remain mostly cloudy with chances of light thundershowers, the rest of the province should brace for hot and humid conditions. Authorities are urged to stay alert and prepare for potential disruptions caused by flooding, particularly in local drains and low-lying areas of Sabi, Sahabpur, Jaffarabad, and Awsta Muhammad.
Residents and concerned authorities in these districts are advised to monitor the situation closely and take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of the adverse weather conditions.
