Secretary Interior Praises NPB for its Endeavours Amid Resource Challenges

Islamabad, Secretary Interior, Mr. Aftab Akbar Durrani, during his visit to the National Police Bureau (NPB) on Tuesday, highlighted the significant role played by NPB and applauded its operational efficiency even in the face of resource limitations. In his visit, the Secretary was provided an overview of NPB’s mandate, its ongoing and anticipated initiatives, and the challenges it faces.

According to a news release by Press Information Department (PID), the Director General of NPB, Dr. Ehsan Sadiq, informed Mr. Durrani about NPB’s responsibility as the secretariat for critical national police institutions, such as the National Police Management Board (NPMB), National Police Reforms Committee (NPRC), and National Public Safety Commission (NPSC). Emphasizing its leadership role in spearheading police reforms, interprovincial police coordination, and international cooperation, Dr. Sadiq also presented proposed NPB initiatives like the National Crime Data Analytics Unit (NCDAU), UN Peacekeeping Selection Unit (UNPSU), and many others. The Secretary Interior affirmed the Ministry of Interior’s unwavering support to assist NPB in executing its mandated functions efficiently.
