Quetta Tube Wells Conversion Meeting Focuses on Solar Energy Transition

Quetta: In a significant push towards sustainable energy, a meeting was held by the Landlord Action Committee under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Waqar Kakar to discuss the transition of tube wells to solar energy. The meeting included key leaders from the Landlord Action Committee and focused on the solarisation of tube wells in various areas including Panjapai, Samingali, Kuchlak, Sariab, Agbarg, and Nowhisar.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting addressed the registration details of all tube wells in the mentioned areas. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) directed representatives from each area to provide detailed information on the registered supply to their respective tube wells. The leaders of the Landlord Action Committee highlighted several challenges faced during the solarisation process, particularly issues related to the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).

The Additional Deputy Commissioner responded by instructing the landlords to coordinate closely with WAPDA to expedite the submission of required data. This step is crucial for the district administration and the Government of Balochistan to accelerate the conversion process, thereby resolving the longstanding issues faced by landowners due to inadequate energy solutions.

The initiative aims not only to enhance the efficiency of water resource management through solar-powered tube wells but also to contribute to the environmental sustainability efforts of the region.
