Lahore: A high-level meeting chaired by Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Bilal Yasin, focused on the preparations for the upcoming Basant Festival in Lahore. The meeting outlined plans to organize the festival as a significant cultural event in the city, featuring various beautification and entertainment activities.

According to the Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the minister emphasized that, following the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, the festival aims to enhance the city’s cultural landscape. The meeting included a detailed briefing by Director General PHA Ahmad Usman Javed, highlighting the arrangements for the event. The plans include dividing Lahore’s major roads and central locations into categories for a comprehensive beautification plan. Special decorations will adorn roads, parks, green belts, and important public places.

The minister instructed that the city’s entry and exit points be decorated with welcome banners, colorful embellishments, and special lighting. In addition, there will be special floats and cultural displays at various locations. The cultural and traditional heritage of historic Lahore will be prominently featured, and proposals have been sought for a grand cultural festival in the Walled City of Lahore. Traditional food stalls and live performances by renowned musicians and artists are also planned to entertain the citizens.

The initiative aims to revive Lahore’s cultural vibrancy and provide residents with quality entertainment. The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) will ensure that the city is well-decorated and beautified for the festival.
