Punjab Police Officials Discuss Enhanced Policing and Public Service Strategies in Lahore

Lahore: In a significant meeting chaired by Additional IG Operations Punjab, Shehzada Sultan, at the Central Police Office, senior police officials from across the region convened to deliberate on various policing strategies and public service improvements. The session, which connected RPOs and DPOs from Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur through video link, along with traffic officers, covered a comprehensive agenda including crime control, traffic management, and community service enhancements.

According to Punjab Police, the discussions led by Shehzada Sultan focused on vital aspects of policing such as adherence to key performance indicators, hardcore policing practices, and efficient traffic management. The officials also reviewed the performance of service centers, the process of FIR registration, and the ongoing efforts in crime investigation and control. Important topics such as drug trafficking countermeasures, law and order management, and the progress of the 1787 complaint center were also addressed during the meeting.

Shehzada Sultan provided specific directives to ensure immediate contact with complainants reporting to the 1787 service and stressed the implementation of effective monitoring systems to address these complaints promptly within set timelines. He highlighted the necessity of intensifying actions against drug trafficking and the possession of illegal weapons. Sultan called for improvements in field patrolling and response times to enhance road safety.

Furthermore, the meeting underscored the need for increased crackdowns on encroachments and smog in collaboration with the district administration. Sultan directed the completion of pending challans, the apprehension of offenders with appropriate penalties, and boosted efforts to curb motorcycle theft and snatching. Enhancing recovery rates, increasing licensing, and ensuring easy access to digital services at service centers were also marked as priority areas.

The meeting saw the presence of DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir, AIG Operations, AIG Monitoring, AIG Complaints, among other relevant officers, all committed to elevating the standards of policing and service delivery across Punjab.
