Lahore: The Punjab Police have deported 34,545 illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens, as part of an ongoing effort to evacuate individuals residing unlawfully in the province. The operation spans Lahore and other districts, focusing on maintaining security and adhering to international deportation laws.
According to Punjab Police, the deported group consists of 13,389 men, 6,963 women, and 14,224 children. Among them, 10,771 individuals had proof of residence, 11,131 were holders of Afghan Citizen Cards, and 12,643 were identified as illegal foreign residents without documentation. Currently, 203 illegal residents remain at various holding points across Punjab.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, emphasized that security throughout the province remains on high alert. The police are committed to implementing the deportation policy for illegal residents while ensuring compliance with international standards.
