Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem has issued directives to strengthen security measures across the province, particularly in Lahore, in preparation for Friday prayers. The enhanced security will focus on mosques, Imambargahs, shrines, markets, and other sensitive areas. Police patrolling and surveillance efforts have been intensified around key roads, places of worship, and business districts.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem instructed District Police Officers (DPOs) and field officers to be physically present in their respective areas to personally oversee security arrangements. The IG emphasized that maintaining law and order and safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens is the primary responsibility of the Punjab Police, and efforts will be made to ensure this objective is met.
Following the IG’s special directions, police officers engaged with citizens at various mosques after Friday prayers, addressing their concerns and implementing necessary measures to resolve issues.
