Punjab IG Holds Open Court to Address Citizen and Police Employee Concerns

Lahore, In a significant initiative aimed at addressing public grievances, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar held an open court at the Central Police Office, where he listened to and issued orders regarding the problems of citizens and police employees.

According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the importance of resolving citizens’ problems promptly. He issued strict instructions to officers, stating that any deliberate delay in addressing citizens’ requests will not be tolerated. Officers found guilty of such delays will face removal from their field postings.

Dr. Anwar also highlighted that all police stations in the province are transitioning to a Special Initiative Protocol. This includes improvements in service delivery at Special Initiative Police Stations and a standardized timeline for the registration of FIRs (First Information Reports). Additionally, ensuring courteous behavior towards citizens is being established as a norm.

Significantly, the rate of driving licensing has been increased by 1000% across Punjab, reflecting an effort to streamline and expedite the licensing process. Furthermore, IG Punjab directed to accelerate the process of evacuating illegal foreign citizens. He emphasized the necessity of completing this process swiftly in collaboration with other institutions.

This meeting and the directives issued are part of a broader effort by the Punjab Police to enhance their service delivery and responsiveness to the public. The move is seen as a step towards improving the overall efficiency and public perception of the police force in the region.
