LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Communication & Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth inaugurated the Operation & Monitoring Control Room at the C&W Department. The facility is designed to enhance monitoring capabilities, with Secretary C&W Raja Jahangir Anwar and other officials present at the ceremony.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, IT experts informed the minister that the control room will oversee construction work on roads, Bridge Management System, Digital MB, Lab Automation System, Buildings Management System, and Right of Way, operating 24/7. The monitoring of road overloading is also integrated into the system.
Minister Bharth emphasized that complaints related to roads and buildings will receive immediate responses. He instructed that the facility should eventually incorporate Artificial Intelligence to enhance its capabilities. The control room will track the history of road construction, including details on reconstruction cycles and records of contractors and field officers.
The establishment of the control room is part of the Digital Punjab vision led by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aiming to set a milestone in infrastructure monitoring. The integrated Complaint Management System is expected to improve response efficiency.
