Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation Unite to Foster Youth Development Through Sports


Islamabad: A new partnership between the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PMMAF) aims to enhance the sports ecosystem in Pakistan and offer young people opportunities to excel in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) both nationally and internationally. This initiative was formalized with the signing of a Letter of Intent at a meeting chaired by Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of PMYP, at the Prime Minister’s Office.



According to Press Information Department, the ceremony was attended by key figures such as Mr. Amsal Zaman, Deputy Director of PMYP, and Babar Qayyum Raja, President of PMMAF, along with representatives from both organizations. The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, a major initiative by the Government of Pakistan, focuses on education, employment, engagement, and environment, while PMMAF is the national governing body for MMA, promoting the sport at various levels.



The Letter of Intent outlines a mutual commitment to empower youth through physical fitness, leadership, and sports representation. Both organizations plan to work together to offer structured and competitive sports activities, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide avenues for young athletes to compete at higher levels.



Key areas of focus include organizing National MMA Championships, youth talent development, training camps, capacity-building, anti-drug campaigns, and community engagement programmes. Mr. Babar Qayyum Raja has been appointed as the focal person for all MMA-related matters, signifying a strategic move to expand opportunities and support the growth of MMA in Pakistan.
