Jeddah: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah to discuss regional stability and strengthen bilateral ties. The meeting, which lasted nearly two hours, covered recent regional tensions and Pakistan’s role in facilitating peace talks between the U.S. and Iran.
According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sen. Mohammad Ishaq Dar. During the meeting, Sharif expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia amidst regional escalation and conveyed condolences for recent losses. He praised the Crown Prince’s leadership and restraint during the crisis, emphasizing Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s peace efforts, which contributed to a U.S.-Iran ceasefire and historic talks in Islamabad. The Crown Prince recognized the constructive role played by Prime Minister Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in the peace process. Discussions also touched on bilateral relations, with Sharif thanking the Kingdom for its economic support and affirming the strategic defense partnership between the two nations. Both leaders committed to continued cooperation on mutual interests.
