Lahore: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, to discuss regional security concerns. The dialogue focused on Pakistan’s condemnation of recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and the potential threats these pose to regional peace and global economic stability.

According to Press Information Department, during the call, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s strong support for Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the need for solidarity in the face of threats to civilian and economic infrastructure. He expressed concerns over the potential disruptions to the global economy and energy supplies due to ongoing tensions. The Prime Minister, joined by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, committed to ongoing efforts to defuse tensions in the region.

The conversation also included Prime Minister Sharif’s commendation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s leadership throughout the crisis. Additionally, the Prime Minister extended his regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. In response, the Crown Prince appreciated Pakistan’s unwavering support and its contributions towards regional peace. Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact and anticipate meeting at an early date.
