ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has granted in-principle approval to streamline and integrate the Public-Private Partnership Authority, aiming to accelerate development projects. This decision, announced during a meeting held in Islamabad, seeks to enhance the efficiency and transparency of public-private partnerships.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting concluded with the decision to position the Public-Private Partnership Authority under the Privatization Division. This move aims to align its operations with contemporary requirements and expedite projects initiated through public-private partnerships. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to bolster the capabilities of relevant ministries and departments to effectively launch development projects using this model.
As part of the new directive, development projects under the public-private partnership model will be included in the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of ministries and departments. The Prime Minister underscored ongoing efforts to enhance the transparency and efficiency of these collaborations through the Public-Private Partnership Authority.
During the meeting, attendees received a briefing on a comparative analysis of public-private partnership models employed in various countries both regionally and globally.
