Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for expanding Pakistan-Sweden cooperation in renewable energy, sustainable technologies, information technology, and agriculture. He also emphasized the significance of parliamentary exchanges and leadership visits to strengthen bilateral ties.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari made these remarks during a meeting with Ahmed Amjad Ali, the Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Sweden, at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President noted the friendly relations between the two countries and emphasized shared views on multilateralism, the rules-based international order, human rights, and democracy. He underscored the importance Pakistan places on Sweden as an economic and commercial partner and a key member of the EU, UN, and other multilateral bodies.

The President highlighted the recent rise in bilateral trade and encouraged the Ambassador-designate to explore academic exchanges, joint research, and technical and vocational training through institutional partnerships. President Zardari also expressed confidence in the Ambassador-designate’s ability to engage closely with the Pakistani diaspora in Sweden, acknowledging their contributions to Sweden’s progress and promoting goodwill for Pakistan.
