Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, along with Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, assessed the ongoing progress of the 104 additional family suites project near the Parliament Lodges, which is nearing its final stages of completion.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the visit included an inspection of the quality of finishing work, as well as the furniture and furnishings of the suites. Senior officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) provided a briefing to Sadiq and Shah regarding the progress and outstanding tasks needed to finalize the project.
The initiative, which began in 2011 and was originally expected to conclude in 2013, faced a nearly decade-long delay. The project was revived through the intervention of Speaker Sadiq, whose ongoing attention facilitated the acceleration of construction efforts, bringing the project closer to its long-awaited completion.
The visit also included the Secretary National Assembly, the Special Secretary for Parliamentary Diplomacy and Protocol, other senior officers from the National Assembly Secretariat, and senior officials from the CDA.
