President Zardari Honors Nurse with Tamgha-i-Shujaat for Bravery

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the conferment of Tamgha-i-Shujaat upon Razia Noreen, a staff nurse at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), for her courageous actions during a recent fire incident at the hospital. Noreen risked her life to save a child, the sole survivor, trapped in the blaze.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari’s approval of the award highlights Noreen’s exceptional bravery. In addition to recognizing Noreen, the president also sanctioned legislative and institutional proposals, including the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) Amendment Bill, 2026, the Standard Time (Interpretation of References) Amendment Bill, 2026, and a bill concerning the environmentally sound management of hazardous materials in ships. Furthermore, President Zardari approved the revision of the Table of Organization and Equipment for the Armed Forces Institute of Urology in Rawalpindi.
