Karachi: Doctors and veterinary health experts have shared an update on Madhubala, an African elephant at Karachi Safari Park, indicating steady signs of improvement while receiving continuous veterinary care and medical monitoring.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Madhubala recently completed a year-long Anti-Tuberculosis treatment under Sri Lankan specialists Dr. Rajapaksa and Dr. Buddhika. The treatment weakened her immunity, impacting her health condition.

Madhubala receives 24/7 veterinary care and monitoring at the Safari Park, with consultation from her Sri Lankan doctors to ensure necessary medical measures. Veterinary experts at the park are closely assessing her health, with a team ready for medical intervention as needed.

Health assessments have shown positive signs, including Madhubala’s ability to stand without support and stable vital parameters. She maintains a good appetite and remains alert. Daily health assessments and diagnostic procedures, supported by the Sindh Institute of Animal Health, monitor her condition.

KMC noted that Madhubala’s dedicated keeper team is with her constantly, coordinating with veterinarians to ensure proper nutrition and care. The Corporation emphasized ongoing efforts for her recovery, with adjustments in care based on medical assessments.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation acknowledged the contributions of veterinary specialists, Sindh Institute of Animal Health, and Sri Lankan consultants in Madhubala’s treatment. They highlighted the encouraging health indicators and pledged continued monitoring and updates.
