President Advocates for Enhanced Trade Ties with Morocco

Islamabad, President Dr. Arif Alvi is pushing for deepened trade, investment, and economic collaboration with Morocco. This call for enhanced cooperation came as he met with Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Morocco, Mr. Muhammad Sami-ur-Rehman, at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President emphasized the shared history and interests between Pakistan and Morocco, proposing the necessity for heightened high-level visit exchanges to bolster bilateral relations. Dr. Alvi also referenced the inception of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) as a platform to aid and attract investments, suggesting Morocco can leverage Pakistan’s conducive business environment.

In a separate meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador/Permanent Representative-designate to the United Nations in Geneva, Dr. Bilal Ahmad, President Alvi expressed the need to bolster Pakistan’s engagement with organizations like the World Health Organization and International Labour Organization. Dr. Alvi also highlighted the importance of utilizing the OIC platform in Geneva to champion Muslim concerns, particularly around issues like Islamophobia and the situations faced by Kashmiri and Palestinian communities.
