Peshawar Protest Highlights Indian State Actions in IIOJK

Peshawar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized a protest at the Agriculture University in Peshawar to mark Indian Republic Day as Black Day. The event drew attention to alleged Indian state terrorism in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the protest saw participation from APHC-AJK leaders and various student unions. Demonstrators carried black flags and banners, voicing opposition to India’s actions in the region and advocating for Kashmir’s freedom.

The demonstration was led by Hurriyat leader Imtiaz Wani and included attendees such as Samiullah Khan, Syed Zahak Jan, and Izharuddin, among others. Speakers at the event argued that India has not respected public opinion in Jammu and Kashmir and questioned its celebration of Republic Day in the contested region.

Concerns were raised about India’s alleged attempts to alter the region’s demography by settling non-Kashmiris there. Participants urged the international community to apply pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue.

Imtiaz Wani condemned what he described as increasing Indian state terrorism in the region, criticizing India’s methods to stifle the Kashmiri freedom movement. He reaffirmed the commitment of Kashmiris to continue their struggle for self-determination.

The protest concluded with an anti-India rally, further highlighting the grievances of those involved.
