London: The Pakistan High Commission in London commemorated the Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan with a ceremony attended by a large number of distinguished guests, including former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen. (R) Zubair Mahmood Hayat, British Parliamentarians, senior UK government officials, Ambassadors, Defence Attaches, media representatives, and friends of Pakistan.

According to Press Information Department, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK, Mr. Tipu Usman, paid tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the sacrifices of martyrs. He noted the courage and success of Pakistan during Marka-e-Haq, emphasizing the resolve and capability of Pakistan’s defense forces under both civilian and military leadership. The success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos was highlighted as a significant achievement, revitalizing the nation’s spirit.

Mr. Usman also underscored Pakistan’s internationally recognized mediation efforts in the Middle East and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye as evidence of Pakistan’s commitment to regional security and stability. He reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening Pakistan-UK defense and security cooperation.

The ceremony included a resolution to continue political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people facing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. It was pledged that the nation stands united with the Pakistan Defence Forces to protect the sovereignty of Pakistan.
